and why takin a break from studyin??
coz i've got headache again !!
argh...

anywae, char and i did a $2 experiment over the weekend..
it was inspired by ryan's experiment with rootbeer and fruity mentos in hall..
and also, partly inspired by the video i watched from 9news.com

yupp.. so the aim of the experiment is to make a coke fountain..
yes, you read correctly!! to make a yummay delicious coke fountain..
so startin materials, preferrably a 2-litre coke/pepsi/rootbeer bottle
and a row of mentos sweets..
i heard that diet-coke/pepsi/rootbeer makes a better fountain..
but i was too cheapo to get diet-coke.. it was 30cent more than the regular coke..

char and i went got a bottle of 1.5-litre coke and a normal light blue mentos sweet..

our experiment material - coke and mentos..

instruction !!
first step is optional..
chop the mentos sweets into halves..
that is to increase surface area for the mentos to react !!

next, put all the chopped/unchopped mentos into a test tube..
no test tubes?? too bad.. go buy one..
hahhahhaa..

next, find an area with high ceiling.. and you can carry out your experiment !!
yay, fun time !!
1. open the bottle cap.. try not to shake the bottle..
2. find a card to cover the mouth of the test tube, and then flip the test tube over
(mentos shud still stuck in test tube)
3. place the test tube over the bottle mouth and den remove the card when ready..
(mentos shud fall into the coke bottle immediately)
4. jump back and watch your experiment in action !!

the one i watched at 9news.com showed the fountain shootin up real high..
approximately 2 metres into the sky..
too bad mine was 30cm high only..
pity they dun sell 2-litre bottles in singapore.. it would have shot up higher !!
but wad the heck.. it still worked !!
