its 810am in the morning.
i just got home from the fire station.

i totally enjoyed my ambulance run !!
maybe becoz i was lucky - we had 6 calls last night!!
and the cases just got better and better, more eggciting, each time !!

but firstly, i must thank my super nice medic and paramedic.
my medic especially.
he's called mr yong jin feng, but lets call him mr teddy for short.
i like mr teddy so :)
mr teddy's really nice and cute !!
he's alwaes taking care of me, explaining everything to me !!

when i reported at 9pm,
he showed me around the fire station campus.
and even prepared a room for me in the sleeping area.
yar, and we just kept talking bout all his scary experiences.
they were once, called to a house with a decomposing body !!
the body was really smelly and it had maggots and its was super edematous !!
and once, this person committed suicide by jumping off his flat,
oh so scary, his whole body spilt into many parts !!
and the paramedic and medics had to pick them all up !!

but yar, mr teddy rocks my socks !!
he'll prepared gloves for me.
make sure those violent patients dun attack me.
offered his seat when i complained that sitting sidewaes made me nausea.
and alwaes explaining everything to me !!
very good :)

so now, let me blog bout my 6 cases !!

920pm - first call !
a 23year old chinese man, involved in a road traffic accident.
his accident caused a massive jam on CTE.
the traffic jam lasted till 1130pm !
traffic tailed back all the wae to orchard-havelock road there !!

so, this was wad happened.
mr motorcyclist was riding really close to taxi - maybe tailgating.
suddenly taxi stepped brake.
and poor mr motorcyclist couldnt stop in time.
his bike slammed into the taxi's left rear light.
and poor mr motorcyclist flew over the taxi and rolled for 1metre !

his upper limbs were bleeding due to multiple sites abrasion.
his right lower limb was damaged !!!
it was a closed fracture, the mid-shaft of his right femur was broken !!
and also, he dislocated his right knee joint.
i dunno how to describe,
but is entire right leg looked so super deformed and edematous!!
also, he had a cervical spine sprain and was complaining of neck pain !!

looked so bloody painful :(

we drove him to tan tock seng (TTSH)
its the nearest hospital !!
and guess who i bumped into?
i bumped wengster !!
she had also sent in her diabetic foot patient.
her patient was sitting in a bus, when someone realised that her foot was bleeding!!
bleeding from a previous poorly-healed wound !

ok, so on the wae back to the fire station,
we suddenly received another call !!
we quickly made a U-turn and headed to amk ave 3.


1040pm - 2nd call !
the patient was a newly diagnosed COPD patient.
he was watching tv when suddenly, he suffer chest tightness and SOB !!
talking to him was fun coz he had almost everything !!
he had a past medical history of
1. Diabetes mellitus
2. Hypertension
3. Hypercholesterol
4. Asthma
5. Triple bypass - CABG
6. Peripheral arterial disease
7. Chronic renal failure
and possibly more !!

althou he was already 76years old.
he was really knowledgable bout his many many medical conditions.
and he knew each and every drug he took, by heart.
so it was quite fun discussing drugs with him.
coz its like mini revision for me.

but one thing, he complained of..
despite his proper inhalation technique,
plus he washes and gargles his mouth 3times after every inhalation.
he still gets fungal infection in his buccal cavity very very frequently.
he described it as oral thrush.
plus he's been in and out of hospital many time due to his pneumonia.

are you thinking wad i'm thinking??


1210am - 3rd call
the patient was a middle age indian lady.
she went drinking and came home drunk.
suddenly, she collapsed and was SOB !

when we arrived, she was floppy and non-responsive.
after carrying her onto the stretcher,
she suddenly turned violent and kept swinging her arms around !
she admitted to be irritated and claimed that they were making her mad.
she complained that the voices in his head was making her get headache !!
please stop it ! please shut up ! i'm so angry, i'm going to slap you !!
she screamed at me thou i wasnt even talking to her.
she suddenly reached out and nearly slapped me while we were riding back to ttsh.
lucky mr teddy saved me !!
she also tried to hit him but lucky he managed to stop her.
he quickly exchange seats with me so that he could restrain her better.
plus, so that i'll be further awae from her.

after awhile, she suddenly sober up and kept apologising to me bout that incident.
den she started talking to mr teddy bout her family members.
and she just started crying non-stop.
i miss my sister. i dunno. maybe i killed her. she made me. she asked for it.
and she just went on and on.. and cried like crazy !!

i suspected she was schizophrenia.
and true enough.
i clerked her husband, and she's such a poor thing.
she was diagnosed with schoizophrenia and was receiving treatment at AH.
unfortunately, they ran out of money
(they stay in a one-room flat and have a lot of debts)
so he decided to stop her anti-pyschotics last month.
and recently, she's been gettin all her symptoms again.
auditory hallucation, thought insertion, etc.
and to help herself cope, she would usually drink and get drunk.
so sad right?

oh yar, and this time.
i bumped into lenith in ttsh.
his patient was admitted for high fever.
lenith was sian coz his case was boring.
hahahaha.


330am - 4th call !
alpha 323 to ang mo kio blk 630 !! there is a dead body !!
we were freaked and hurried over as soon as possible !!

when we got there, there was a body lying at the foot of the block.
it was motionless, many people had gathered around it !
they were speculating that maybe he had jumped off the flat while drunk.

the paramedic knelt beside him to check his vitals.
hello mister, are you okae?
next moment, the dead guy's eyes open !!
everyone was so shocked we jumped back !!!

yuanlai, it was a sleepy drunken who decided to just sleep on the streets !!
quite gross.
coz he peed, forgot to zip his pants and slept by his pee.

wad a silly and waste time call.
but it was quite a scary moment.
everyone really thot he was dead !!!


545am - 5th case!!
the patient was a 34year old chinese lady.
she was reported to be having seizures.
by the time we got there, she was fine already.

her husband claimed that she had gone to the bathroom to shit.
suddenly he heard a sound and rushed over.
apparently, she had fallen off the toilet seat and was convulsing on the floor!!
the seizure lasted for 1min and then, he quickly carried her out.

so we still sent her to ttsh for overnight observation and investigations.
she had no known history of epilepsy.
the interesting part is, her husband is supposed to be some rich/famous guy.
the medics saw his pictures in the frontpage of those business mags.
oh, i dunno.


and the last and absolutely best case !

650am - 6th case !
alpha 323 to ang mo kio blk 630 again !?!!
we immediately thot, it must be that same dead guy again !!
but wrong !!
this time, it was a 34year old indian man.

when we got to the kopitiam, everything look normal.
except, the entire floor was covered with thick red, coagulated blood !!
there was a long trail.
from the road side, to the pavement, to the entire kopitiam stretch.

and finally, the body.
it was lying in a pool of coagulated blood, in front of some empty store.
a man, lying there.
both his wrist was almost chopped off.
his right radial head was sticking out of the wound.
the tip of radial head was chopped off, the bone marrow was exposed.
his flesh was flapping, and he was covered with damn alot of blood !!!

also, his scalp was chopped, he was bleeding non-stop.
on turning him around, his tee was sliced.
we cut over his tee, and found a couple more slash wounds.
very scary indeed, i've never seen so much blood before !
i think its at least 2litres of blood in lost !!

i went to speak to some withnesses.
according to the kopitiam auntie,
that guy came to her store to buy a pack of cigarette.
den he left, walked to the roadside to hail a cab.
suddenly, out of nowhere, 2 unidentified man attacked him with parangs.
they tried to whack his head/skull but he used his hand to shield himself
after hacking his arms/wrist, they whacked again, and this time, finally got his head.
the guy quickly turned around and run back towards the kopitiam.
maybe thats how he got the back wounds too.
he ran thru the entire kopitiam stretch, den he started losing conscious and collapsed !

and becoz he was bout 100kg, it took our 3 paramedics plus 3 policeman.
to transfer him to the stretcher, lift it up and bring him to the ambulance.

oh reaching ttsh, the nurses went
another one? also indian? also kena parang??
yuan lai, his brother was also attacked and was admitted 10mins before him.

at A&E, his bp kept dropping.
from 140/80 in the ambulance, to 110/60 and den to 80/40
his heart beat kept going up.
from 80 in the ambulance, to 90 and den to 100++.
so scary.

but in the end, the doctors managed to sedate him.
examine his wrist and sent him off for imaging.
i hope he's okae now !!

oh, wad an eggciting night !
i cant wait for ambulance run again, next mondae !!
mr teddy said more suicide cases occur in the dae.
i cant wait.
too bad, he's off that dae.

k, shall sleep now.
to visit my bunlops later !

oh, let me tell you my sad story !!
last week, happy kerly and sister went shopping.
happy kerly bought 1 x sweater and 4 x tees.

when i got home, i happily took the sweater out to wear.
and left the other tees in the shopping bag.

one week later, angry sister say,
why is this shopping bag still lying around the room?
very messy !!
can you quickly take out your top to wash/pack into cupboard/wear?

ok sister !!

oh, horror upon horror !!
i found out that the lady cashier forgot to pack in 1tee !!!
so how now brown cow?
how to prove that i dint receive the tee??
plus its been 1week already !!

oh sadness.
that was my favourite one among all somemore :(

shocking.
i reached home todae at 11pm.
to an empty home.

anywae, todae was great !
why?
we managed to cheat the coke machine !!!
hohohoh.

we watched this video !!


den dehan asked if i'm game to try it out.
of course i was !!

toe, kerly and dehan marched down to the coke machine.
first attempted failed !
we ended up buying 2 bottles of coke for $2 !
we took a video too.
but shall not waste time posing a failed attempt.

2nd attempt !
i dint let the bottle roll out before letting go.
so it got stuck.
but in the end, we paid $2 for 3 bottles of drinks !!

so in all,
$4 for 5 bottles of drinks which cost $5.30 !
yay !!

happiness. many pictures to remember this happy moment. and toes open many packets of food to celebrate too !!
yes, we will be successful tomorrow.

i never knew studying could be this fun.
ok, not really the studying part lah.
its the after-studying activities !!

i must say, darren is a horrid influence !
i started my do-not-eat-after-8pm diet.
and he managed to make me break it on the 2nd dae !
argh :(

we finally went to adams road hawker centre last night !
big prawn mee, stingray, roti prata, not-so-nice-tasting longan drink.
yummay !

we had a race there !
and, kerly and toe won the race.
mr march came in first, followed by darren, dehan and weng !
yay !
mr march rocks my smelly socks :)

and todae, after studying hard at rj.
we went for yummay cartel dinner at j8 !!
et, darren and dehan are very funny.
kept making me laugh, until i nearly puke out my dinner !

et told us her go-watch-garfield-with mummy story.
and her dunno-whether-really-kena-molested-by tutor-or-not story.
and her romantic jewel box dinner with jirong.
and her many TANKS Qs to the waitress.
and "would you like a very severe-looking secretary?"
i mean, how does a severe-looking secretary look like??

and as head of the Club MO, she interviewed us.
how many different types of hotdogs are there in MOS?
okae, so wad are the difference between them??
how much is the claw cowder soup at MOS?
so the MOS prawn, comes in packet of 5s and __ ??

although i failed most of the questions.
i managed to quiz her with my own set.
wad brand of fresh milk does MOS sell?
how many favours? how much does the salad bowl cost ?
oh, and she dint manged to answer them all either.

so i dun care.
i'm still part of the Club MO k !!

i really love studying with funny friends :)

i just got home.

the spontaneous troopers finally went to watch movie !
we went to watch the sneaks for Saw III
very yummay i must say.

oh i love horror movies so.
and i loved Saw I and Saw II !
oh, i think Saw III is good too.
go watch it !

i flipped opened the newspaper this morning.
and i saw, Saw III sneaks tonight !!
i got excited, my heart started beating a bit faster.
oh, but cannot.
pharmaco paper coming up soon.
everyone surely wanna stay in library to study :(

and the next moment, ah nan msg-ed me !
study in library todae? 1 x late night movie - Saw III???

oh this rocks.

i went for training alone !!

yupp, i reached nus high.
there was 4 guys and me !
they said no girls coming tonight.
so i could either stay and train with them, or go home/back to nus to study.
and i chose to stay.

and wad i did next was even more shocking !!!

i ran 15 rounds, around the track !!!
somemore, i ran on the outermost lane, lane 8 !!
yes, very shocking indeed.
thats about 7km at one go !!
oh, i've never run so much in my life before !!

oh, i shud sleep soon.
i promised dehan to meet him after his riding class tm at 10am.

oh my..
spontaneous girl is spontaneous no more :(
thats becoz i'm sick.

and its so weird.
now that i'm sick and cannot go out,
suddenly everyone ask me to go out.

last night, mimi jio me go watch movie.
todae, dehan say go adams road for big prawn mee and stingray.
then, jirong ask if wanna go play pool or watch movie !

oh anywae, i must boast that i'm a proud new member of Club MO.

yay !

and becoz of this new club,
the competitive chairman and chairwoman of Mid-week Ice Cream Troopers,
have decided to form a new club too.
its called the Form New Clubs Club !
they're mad !! but wadeva.
as long as i'm part of every club, den everythings good :)

i received a funny msg from emily.

den i went out to check on mr cream.

the next door aunty heard my order.
and she started talking to me.
telling me bout how drinking teh peng would make you get diabetes.

i asked why?
is it becoz of the high sugar content?

she said no.
she said its becoz of the ice.
she concluded, you can drink kopi or teh.
but rem not to order it with ice.
becoz ice makes you get diabetes.

i challenged her ideas, but she was firm.
i tried to explain to her, but she was really convinced.

i'm really shocked bout the public's misconception.
maybe its just her.
but i doubt she's the only one around that thinks like that.
man, maybe the COFM project will really come in useful.

i've been feeling sick since sat..
leaky nose, feeling kinda febrile.
i got caught in the rain on my wae back to nus.
had to study in the cold library in my wet clothes.
but all these, not that bad lah.

i'll get a new pair of matching helmets soon.
i promise.

i just hope that guy who stole it, wears it and crashes in it.

okay fine,
i hope he falls and get his leg pinned down by his bike.

i blogged bout this on sat, but dint post it coz my pics were not ready.
okay, so here it is now.

maybe it was becoz i had headache since morning.
and maybe it was becoz i was cold and sneezing all noon.
maybe thats why.

i thot the dim sum dollies' Little Shop Of Horror was okae only.
at least it wasnt as disappointing as Casino Royale.
hahahahah.

and maybe coz i was feeling rather ill.
my brain wasnt working too well too.
this wad happened this afternoon.

you know, i've been arriving late for my plays.
ie: forbidden city, cabaret, magical fundoshi etc.
and you know how anal the theatres are,
they'll lock you out until there's a scene change.
so you have to stand outside and watch the play from a small screen.
and so i decided.
leave home at 2, pick char at 220, reach victoria theatre at 250, watch play at 3.

but no !
we left home late again !
and to make things bad, halfwae on the wae to char's house,
we realised that we left the tickets at home !!
and after picking char, we realised - JAM along CTE becoz its sat todae !
and worst still, i forgot the play was at victoria theatre.
i happily drove to kallang theatre !!!

but lucky for us, the play started late too!!
and coz the afternoon sessions are usually not full.
we managed to sit at the $120 stall seats !
cool beans :)

the end of the show was best !
coz we managed to take pics with our favourites !!

see, kerm took pics with her fav dim sum dollies !!
and i managed to take a pic with hossan leong, my favouritest fav !!
and char shyly took pics with her mr good-looking limyubeng :)
and after the play, kerm and i went shopping at vivocity !!
yay yay !!
i think i officially love forever 21 !!
we spent like 2hours shopping there.
crazyness.
after that, we felt that everywhere else was boring.
everything else was either too ugly or too expensive.

anywae, go watch Imagine Me & You.
really sweet show.
yar, i loved the ending.
but i cried for heck thou.

its so concidental.
weng and i were talking bout this during CRIC.
she said it would be good to have a sun roof in the car.
so can look out at see stars at night.
i said, it would be even better to get a convertible.
it would be perfect.
all the stars could be seen even more clearly.
den we both agreed that a hard-top convertible would be best.
so pretty. our dream car.
just that it might be quite hot without car aircon during CRIC.

i went down to read newspaper just now.
this was at the back page of Life. a brand new renault megan convertible.
hard-top and best of all, glass roof ! perfect car for CRIC !

oh i wanna kill blogger.

my sister dear is a lucky girl indeed.
i stayed at home to study for end-posting test yesterdae.
every few moments, cheeky friends of kerm would come over to drop off presents.
they wanted to stay to surprise/scare her but CANNOT !
got A level papers the next dae.
they so're sweet right?

the best present is the blueberry cake. a couple of my sister's friends from the US..
had specially ordered it online and have it sent here.
very good friends indeed.

guilty-feeling kerly finally decided..

becoz wednesday is the last dae of pysch med posting.
becoz maybe i can get some last minutes tips for my end-posting test.
becoz ponning school all the time is bad.
becoz the total number of daes i've attended school in the past month,
(embarrassingly) adds up to less than a week.

so when the alarm rang at 743am this morning,
kerly popped out of bed instantly !!
really !
even i was freaked !

and den, i went to take a shower.
coz that's the yuckiest thing to do in the morning.
you know, you'll all hypothermic in the morning,
a cold shower just freezes you all up, makes you shiver like mad & it really wakes you up !!
really.

so happy kerly drove to school, drank her coffee.
wore her labcoat and student tag.
took out her notes, pen and notebook,
sat in training room 1, and waited for tutorial to start.

after waiting for 10mins..
how come still no one here??

so suspicious kerly called her fellow cg mate..
and guess wad !?!!

lessons for the entire day of wednesdae had been cancelled !!!
cancelled at the request of the students..
becoz everyone wanted to stay home to study for tom's end-posting test !!!
and no one told me bout it..

oh, i cannot help it !! its stuck in my mind again !!

i reached home at 333am yesterdae !!
we shocked ourselves.
med students hanging out till late on mondae night??
esp when we have school at 730am the next dae !?!
mad med students indeed !!

kerly was so tired, she slept with wet hair.
its yucky.
wet hair and wet pillow, a big NO NO :(
but no choice, sleepy eyeballs need their sleep.

last night was wae fun, thou we dint really do much.
we just sat at newton, eat alot and talk alot !!!
oh, i'm such a talkalot girl.
sit around talk cock sing song, eat and grow fat is my favourite past time.
i like :)

we played, who would you wanna be for a day.
weng and i realised that we'll still be good friends as even as guys.
coz we like the same type !!

weng thinks that i've lowered my standards, by a lot.

oh, my tyre got punctured last night.
thankyou mechanic teo for helping me with it.
poor mechanic teo.
he just had his hand operated on, on fridae.
plus he had never changed a tyre before.
but lucky there was experienced kerly.
so changing the tyre was fun, funny, and quick.
yay yay !

after that, i helped change RU LAI SHENG ZHANG's partner's dressing.
RU LAI SHENG ZHANG is mechanic teo's left hand.
the right hand is the stitched up one.
many stitches indeed.
very scary and painful looking.
i scared :(

after that, it was amazing race !!
first to cine, no tickets, all sold out.
den to plaza sing, also no tickets coz no midnight show.
den to cathay, also no tickets coz no one watches midmight movie on mondaes !!
den to rochor beancurd, no more beancurd.
and finally, to newton !!
yes, food yes !!

happy dae indeed.
more single friends please?
having no commitment to anyone except yourself is quite good.
i think i'll learn to like that.

i wanted to write bout my scary toilet experience.
but dint know how to write it..
so dehan, the friendly ghost, helped me write this.

i needed to pee. i was urgent !!!
so i went to the nearest toilet.
but, horror upon horror, it was locked !
so i thot i'll outsmart the security guard,
who was so evil as to deprive me of the handicap toilet,
by borrowing a coin from nice dehan to unlock the door.

so with my legs crossed,
i crept to the door and turned the lock...
yay it worked !!

then i got the shock of my life!!!!!
then, then?
what happened ?!?

oh scaryness to the max!!!
the lock magically locked itself back !!
i saw the green part of the lock turned clockwise, back to red.
it locked itself back !!!

so brave dehan decided to go forth to help urgent kerly
but deep inside he was also very scared..
that's why he asked me to go along with him.
just as he was about to put the coin to the lock...
we both heard water noises coming from the toilet !!!
we were so scared that we ran away!!!!

30secs later, an angry looking boy marched out of the toilet.
he must be thinking "who's that sickening person who tried to unlock my door !"
hohoohohoh..
what a scare !

here's a question.

if you have a friend with carotenemia, do you tell him that he's yellow?
or would you watch and wait, to see how yellow he'll turn into?

here's some backgroud info from emedicine.
Carotenemia is a common finding in children, mainly due to the excessive intake of carrots, but it can also be associated with the ingestion of many other yellow and green vegetables and citrus fruits. Carotene is a lipochrome that normally adds yellow color to the skin. The condition of carotenemia is harmless, but it can lead to a mistaken diagnosis of jaundice.

a girl friend told me she'll tell him, coz its bad to see someone so yellow.
but the guy friend said, its harmless to health, so lets wait and watch him turn yellow.

i'm still undecided.

he thinks i'm smell like the dustbin, like rotten vege and leftover chicken :(

dehan: hmm..
kerly: ah ! must be that dustbin over there !! coz the smell is coming from there !
dehan: oh yar !! yes yes, must be !!! hahahha..
kerly: very funny meh?
dehan: hohoho, i thot it was you so i dint dare to say !!!
kerly: oh sadness :(

i am a silly girl.
i forgot there was training todae.
i went to donate blood yest.

with 10% of my blood gone.
i nearly died during training.

becoz i missed training on tues.
i had to make up for it today.
more drills, more running, more more more !

10mins into training.
and my heart was already pumping at 200beats/mins.
maybe even faster, i dunno.
it pumped so fast and hard, i thot it was gonna pop out of my body.

20mins into training.
postural hypotension.
sit down to drink water or bend down to pick shuttlecock.
then, stand up and see stars.

30mins into training.
feel like fainting liao.
everyone said i look sick/as white as ghost.

oh horrid experience.

now, i must rem these !!
no more blood donation before training.
no wear girl boxers for training.
no eating dinner before training.

must must must rem !!

this is a bowl of rabbits. all the batch2 rabbits. i love my rabbits. i love my batch2 rabbits :)

this was the batch2 babies when they were born.
muffin loves his sister rabbit, peko. granola loves his sister rabbit, peko :) everyone loves peko.
