oh, more on the vietnam trip,
after we got kicked out,
instead goin to support the other singapore teams in other sports,
the naughty badminton team went to tour the rest of hanoi.

and lucky for us, we had nicky to bring us around.

nicky is a ex-vietnamese national badminton player.
so this time, when we visited, he called his frens along.
and so we managed to visit many many fun and cheap places !!!

first,
to all the temples and historical buildings in hanoi.

i think the vietnameses loves lakes and temple. everywhere's temples and pagoda with many many stories.
nicky even brought us to this countryside temple. and we went to visit the neighbouring agricultural field !!

and after all the sight-seeing.. it was shopping and eating time !!!
i love hanoi's food !!!
its really really different from singapore food.
and everything's so cheap !!
each item costs between 20cent to 60cents sing.
even thou nicky said that we're being cheated already,
we still think its awfully cheap !!!

hohohoh.
look at these cheap, yummay roadside food !!!
this is baked sweet potato !! very warm and yummay indeed !!

and the bestesty best fried banana i've eaten !! there's fried corns and potato too.
i dint try the corn but i heard its very tasty too :)

and dog meat satay !! we saw satay and it was selling for 20cent each.
very yummay meat, dun taste like chicken or pork or beef.
we walked down the streets further..
and saw many other stalls selling similar types of satay..
and very scarily, they were actually selling dog meat !!! look at this HUGE roasted dog on display !!
no wonder, you dun see much stray dogs on the street !!

the vietnam people call this human milk. the fruit looks like sour sop inside, but the fruit is as milky as milk !!

and even the restaurant food's really cheap !!! a normal bowl of beef noodles costs 50cents !!
and they usually filled with many many beef plus all the internal organs !

we ate alot of steamboat coz the weather was cold. and we just ordered ordered and ordered and den eat, eat, eat !!! and its usually less than sin$10 including drinks, beer and hanoi alcohol !!


we went to a fish restaurant.

very famous street, the entire street sells only fish !!
very yummay !
and we even celebrated mr heng's 37th birthdae there !!! and we got him damn drunk !!!

and i love the many many night markets.

there's this super huge weekend night market!!
only on during the weekends, fridae, saturadae and sundae nights.
loveliness to the max coz everything is so cheap. and they're really organised,
one entire street on shoes, one entire street on belts, etc.

apparently, these items are produced in vietnam..
and den exported for thailand to be sold in chatuchak, patpong night market, etc.
so can you imagine, how much cheap it is here !?!?
yes indeed, very very cheap !!!
and we all felt like kings and queens here !!

and the night market had alot of yummay food too !!!
look, green "ang ku kuays"
and yummay ice kachang looking stalls that sell sweet local desserts.

super-cheap 60cent bubble tea and fruit yogart !!

and becoz we have no more games.
we played drinking games with their cheap beer, wines and alcohols everynight!! a bottle of local beer cost 65cent sing,
a big bottle of tiger beer is sin$1.20,
a bottle of locally made french/australian wine is sin$6,
a bottle of volka hanoi is sin$2.20 !!
madness right??
