my vietnam trip was lovely.
i was a sad girl when i left,
but a happy kerly when i got back :)

the trip was fun fun fun !
hanoi was damn beautiful, plus the company of my aug team mates were the best !! somemore, i was the baby of the team,
so everyone took care of me.

we were put up in a 1-star colonial style hotel.
it was one of the historical buildings in hanoi.
they revamped it and turned it into a hotel.
really big and beautiful.
and also, close to the city center.

its really weird,
coz thou it was supposed to be a 1-star hotel,
it felt more like a 3-star hotel. very big rooms with good room service.

i bunked in with the twins, terri and ashley.
they're really cute !
together, we formed the san jie mei. thats why, many pics of the 3 of us !!


hanoi is supposed to be the capital of vietnam.
but it feels less developed than ho ching min city (saigon)
thou our game was only the 13th asean university game,
not the asian games or commonwealth games or anything big..
we had a grand welcome in hanoi.
everywhere we went, there was big welcome posters.

they even held a super big march pass with mass display for us ! we had to march into the stadium in different country contingents. and at the end of the 3hour long performance, there was a 15min firework display !!! lovely birds in the sky.

and the next few days, it was tournie all the wae. unfortunately for the singapore team,
we got very lousy draws.
we met indonesia and malaysia in our knock-out prelimary rounds.
and for individual events, we met all the top seeds.
sian.

i played doubles for team events. and played singles in the individual events.

do you know, the indonesia pair i played against,
is currently ranked world no. 38 ?
yes indeed, most of the other countries cheat !
they send their national players for these university games.
no wonder singapore alwaes loses.

yar, but anywae, i'm very pleased to say this.
i managed to smash a couple of shuttles into my indonesian opponent.
so very good.
even the world ranked no. 38 player got smashed by me, in the chest !!
