oh no, i feel so bad.
i left the library early todae.
and, i told myself that i'll come home to bathe.
so that after bathing, i'll be clean and refreshed.

non-stop !!!
there wasnt even a lunch break.
weng and i had to sneak out to 7-11 halfwae to buy ourselves sandwich.

oh sadness.
todae, a 66year old lady committed suicide in the hospital :(
she came in for a coronary bypass surgery 2 daes ago.
the operation was successful, and she was recovering well.
but i dunno wad she was thinking this morning,
she just walked out to the balcony of her 5th storey ward,
and just jumped to her death.

it was so freaky and scary.
we got the call from the staff nurse,
and my doctor thot she was joking.
becoz someone had also jumped to his death on mondae.
how can it be so coincidental?

you know how rare it is?
NUH receives, on average, 2 patients who jump to their death, a year !!
and this week alone, we received 2 !!
somemore within our own hospital compound !!
my doctor said we are jinx, give them bad luck :(

but anywae, we sprinted to the scene.
it was filled with many many doctors and nurses.
so chaotic. so scary.
we pushed her pale, lifeless body back to the A&E room and began resusitating her.
and she was bleeding from all possible orifices :(
haii.

she was actually asystolic and breathless by the time we found her.
but we dint give up on her, we still tried to save her.
and after almost an hour of trying, the doctors finally gave up.
and pronounced her dead.
its really sad.


ok, but on the happier note, i catheterised my patient for the first time todae !!
it was a19year old boy who had collapsed due to heat stroke.

it was quite fun, but very scary at the same time.
the doctor first gave him sedatives to calm him down.
next, i was told to take his penis and inject lignocaine into his urethra.
hmm, it must be very painful.
coz as i was squeezing the local anesthetic in,
i could see the boy cringing in pain :(
made me so scared and nervous.
i was so scared that i was grabbing his dick too hard or something !!
ahahaaha.
after that, i was so scared to push the rubber catheter in !!!
but i did it anywae.

and wad happened next was damn funny.
you know, after inserting the catheter in,
you're supposed to inflat the balloon with saline.
so that the catheter wouldnt slip out from the bladder.

i tried and tried but couldnt get my saline syringe into the tube.
i kept fighting with the tubes, tossing, turning, flipping it around,
until all the patient's urine splashed everywhere !!
lucky, none splashed on me.
it all splashed onto the helpful nursing student that was assisting me !!
hahhaha.

so disgusting.
after that i washed my hands in herbiscrub 3 times !!
and bathed my arms in alcohol rubs 2 times !!
haahhahhaa.

i cant help but think of my first per-rectal examination.
where i flicked shit onto the patient's pants while taking off my gloves !!
hahahahah. hohohohoh. so funny !!

anywae, the cheapo students went to buy two-for-one coke todae !
