but i really wanna go !!

here's the story.

darren and i were just talking bout the 24th World University Games,
its held in Bangkok, Thailand and its from 8-18August.
we were talking bout softball, badminton, and how lovely it would be if we went.

the next evening, i received a call from mr yum.
mr yum's the head of department of SRC in NTU.
apparently, i've been selected to represent in the 24th World University Games. and den he emailed me all the details and wants my reply on this matter by TODAY !

so the question is - To go or Not to go ?

see, at first the decision was simple.
cannot go ! and why?
becoz of my hong kong tournie,
i'll be missing part of week 1 and the entire week 2 of my paeds posting.
and if i went for the bangkok trip,
i'll be missing half of week 7 and the entire week 8 of the paeds posting !
and that also means, i'll be missing my end-of-posting test which is bad !
so that was a BIG fat NO !

den jeremy's email came in, there might be a reshuffle in time table, and i might be doing my short posting first !
if so, den there might be a fair chance i can go without missing much.

so now, i'm confused.

ok, this is why i wanna go !
firstly, i feel very flattered and honoured to be invited to take part in this tournie.
as we're taking part in the Sudirman Cup, (mixed team event),
and will be sending only 3 girls and 5 guys,
and yay yay !
i was selected to go !!

also, i looked at the line up of players,
and i'm very pleased to know that i'll be playing with all my old teammates.
really very zai players here !
and also, for the first time, i'll be playing in the same team as gerald !
so fun !

also, as this is the World University games,
we'll be seeing alot of world-class badminton players,
which would later be taking part in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
most eggciting of all, i'll be able to take pictures with Ponsana Boonsak, the champion of Singapore Aviva Open and the Singapore Super Series !

and of course, a $300 10dae trip to bangkok sounds really cheap and good !!
oh, i love going on cheap, subsidised holidaes !

but here's why i shudnt go,
if i went, i'll be missing 3weeks out of 8weeks of my short posting !!
and there's a high chance i'll have to miss one of end-of-posting test !
den i'll have to retake it with the next batch, just like my emed test.

and also, i'm not like my fellow classmate, Valerie Teo, the national bowler.
i mean, if she missed school to play in her tournie,
there is a fair chance she'll come back with GOLDS,
and also, she can potentially come back $200 000 richer !!
but me, i'm just a varsity badminton player,
chances are, my team would be kicked out by dae 2/3, and i'll come back $500 poorer !
so this is bad !!

but den again, as gerald mentioned, it a once in a lifetime opportunity!
not everyone's so lucky to be chose to represent the varsity team.
and i know, i'm not planning to play badminton after i graduate from med school,
so this is prolly one of the last few overseas tournie i can take part in.

so how, so how?
