i finally went to the dcotors todae,
and val is right !
medical student do get free consultations !

there's 2 waes of getting a free consult,
either, "eh doctor.. i'm a medical student leh.. gimme free leh.."
or like me, hope that doctor do it for you..

doc: so are you still schooling or working already?
kerly: hmm, i'm a student..
doc: oh really? NUS? NTU?
kerly: NUS
doc: oh, wad course are you doing?
kerly: i'm doing medicine !
doc: orh !
(rings up nurse at the counter)
doc: free consult for this patient :)

yar, but she failed to mention that..
free consultation = make your own diagnosis and prescribe your own drug.
hahahah.
lucky, my diagnosis was right and i guessed the antibiotic right too.
actually, i only know of one type of antibiotic, becoz that the one i use..
luckily, thats the one he planned to prescribe too.

oh, and i must say..
my father is such a biased man !
i used to tell him one million times to take his diabetes medications,
and he just refuses to listen..

and 2 nights ago, jiayang came over for mahjong,
after that, he stayed for drinks with my dad..
they talked bout everything under the sun,
den jiayang asked him bout his health and diabetic control..

and just 2 sentences from jiayang,
"uncle, i think if the doctor asked you to take the medication 2 times a dae,
den you shud take it wad..
plus your blood glucose level is not bad lah, but can be better controlled..."

and now, my dad is like super good boy,
takes his meds twice a dae without fail..
plus no more nonsense bout side effects etc..

so horrid, i think Denise Goh is right !
a doctor's most difficult patient is alwaes her own parents.
becoz no matter how grown up you are, how senior a doctor you are,
they'll alwaes see you as their little daughter !
